Trapshoot (Gremlin Industries, Inc., 1975)
Design and Concept: Jerry Hansen Graphics: Lonnie Pogue
Trapshoot (model 5001A) was the second game produced by Gremlin, and was arguably their most popular game.
Trapshoot was originally produced as a Gremlin "White Game", though later versions were produced as a "Black Game". Replacement black screens with revised light baffles, were manufactured by Gremlin to be retrofitted to the earlier white games.
A Trapshoot Test Box was offered by the factory for this game, model 5001A-TB. This test box plugged into a 15-pin connector along the right side of the logic board, and allowed the operator to check the power supply voltage, hit scoring, score lamps, cup awards, doubles, game end, and includes a switch to allow the receiver to operate without a transmitter. Interestingly, the test connector appears on the logic boards of both Trapshoot styles (White and Black), as well as on the later Skeet Shoot game.
There is a video of this game in operation on Shane Monroe's Project Trapshoot web site.
